About English 11 (the Teaching of Speaking)

1.     What is your insight about English 11 subject in terms of subject content, lesson sequence, degree of difficulty/ease?

è As one of those who are taking English 11 (the Teaching of Speaking), it is not only an enthusiasm- provoking subject, it draws my interest and I always look forward for another day of activity-filled session. As far as subject content, lesson sequence and degree of difficulty/ ease is concerned, all I can say is that it’s meaningful/ enriching, organized to fit to our level of intellectual capacity as student-teacher.

2.     What can you say about your learning environment in terms of classroom appearance and functionality, location, noise level, light/ventilation?

è The learning environment is absolutely conducive to learning, therefore guaranteeing us of a smooth acquisition of relevant and substantial input, inasmuch as provision of a speech laboratory as our permanent venue for our classes was granted and provided. Hence, it serves as a factor to easy learning. All sessions are assured free from unnecessary noise, it is well- ventilated, too.

3.     What can you say about your classmates in terms of attitude towards others, subject, group work?

è My classmates always have good attitude towards this subject, they don’t actually commit absenteeism except exigencies arise.  It’s for the reason that they know, being on the subject under teacher Marian is a great privilege to develop the skills and competencies needed as a would-be teacher specializing on the English language. The subject also provides opportunities to our social dimension wing to many interactive activities afforded to us, thus, it drives my classmate to be participative in class.

4.     What can you say about your teacher in terms of teaching style, lesson delivery, and rapport/attitude towards each students, communication skills, personality and manner of dressing, classroom management?

è Teacher Marian is exceptionally gifted with the skills in communication and articulation that stunned me every time she speaks before the class. Moreover, she has the ability to bridge the gap between our strength and our flaws through establishing rapport between her and students. She has also the capacity to hold the class to discipline without exerting much effort for everything is completely routinized. Teacher Marian also shows flexibility and versatility in teaching; easily shifts from one teaching style to another to fit to the level, condition and ambiance of learning.

5.     What can you say about yourself in terms of attitude towards content of subject, level of understanding of the lessons, level of improvement in skills?

è After months on this subject I find myself hooked up to every topic being discussed every meeting. This is manifested on my attitude towards the content of this subject; I am looking forward to attending the class every Wednesday. Actually, I always dream to become an eloquent speaker and communicator and that aspiration is my motivation to giving the most of my ability to this subject. I am much hopeful that I can imbibe all its enriching content that could possibly be gotten. As to evaluating my level of improvement in skills, I can say that I improved in terms of the level of confidence, perhaps.

6.     What is/are your recommendation/s?

è For me, there’s no room for recommendation since all of us are doing great in the subject. However, if I will be compelled to, I recommend that we are to be given a seminar on Effective speaking taking into account grammar and with emphasis to correct usage of the English Language. Certainly, this will be of utmost help not only to develop our skills in communication but also to boost our self-confidence and self-regard as we speak in an eloquent manner.
